SYDNEY, This Day. The "Herald" says it was really no race. When fairly in the straight Gloaming passed Beauford in the easiest possible manner, having several lengths to spare. All things considered Gloaming must be regarded" as the greatest horse of his time. ■ ,
The VEaily Telegraph states that Wood rode' Beauford with hands and Jieels, but he had no' chance against ttie New ZeaJander.
Gloaming's time was 2min 4sec/ a second slower than Beanford's time last year. .
