FILLING THE GAP
BY-ELECTION AVOIDED.

SYDNEY, 22nd September. Mr. C. W. Oakes, Chief Secretary announced that the Government proposed to fill the Sturt vacancy in the same way as the previous Parliament has filled vacancies.
Mr. Horsington, the third Labour nominee, will be elected to succeed Mr. Wright. The method of choosing party nominees to fill vacant seats in the Assembly was introduced last year by the Labour Ministry-
