Wellington: Goalkeeper, Moore; fullbaoks, Martin and Harris; halves, Scott, Cknrt, Thorpe; forwards, Taplin, Aitchiaon, H«apy, Lu«ty, Philpotts. Referees, Mefere. Wakelin and Fisher. Flay was fairly even for the most part, although the Wellington .forwards had slightly .bettor combination. Wairarapa were the/first to score, Tunnicliffe accepting a good centre from Gallon and, sending the, ball into ;the:rlet. .The game wa» evenly contested for some time, until Heaphy distinguished himself by taking the ball upfield And scoring for Wellington. Before the first spell ended, Philpotte gave Wellington the lead, and this was' retained for the remainder of the game.
