ONE-DAY RACE CLUBS

DARGAVILLE, 25th August. The' annual meeting of the Dargaville Racing Club, held last night, unanimously resolved to convene a meeting of delegates from one-day country clubs in the Auckland province to consider the question of extra permits or relief from the excessive taxation which is crippling the finance of many of them. The local club, it was stated, lost nearly £200 on last year's operations. The grots profit on the annual race meeting was approximately £800, out of which the Government took .ttxee amounting to close on £700.
