MOTOR-CYCLING CLUB
The Wellington Motor-cycling dub held'a smoke "social" at Dustin's, Cubasweet, on Saturday evening. The president of the club, Mr. C. W. Tanner, occupied the chair. There were about SO members present, and the prizes won during the past season were presented by the. president. D. Macleay won the Bidwill and Barton Cup, also gold medal. B. Grouby obtained a gold and a silver medal, and a trophy from the Dunlop Rubber Co. W. J. Cody, a gold medal. 'H. Riddler, silver medal and trophies presented by Messrs. Adams, Ltd., and Messrs. Clark and Morris. Messrs. A.' Shackleton, A. Brascli, S. B. Curtis, B. Grouby, J. Butcher, and W. Mason, silver medals. A Broe won the Sutherland and Rankine Cup; H. Dimock, a special prize given by Messrs. Inglis BroB.; J. ■ Young, a prize presented by-Messrs. Teagle Smith ; and N. Leslie, a prize presented by Mr. T. Oates.
The musical programme was provided by Messrs. V. Williams, F. Pinney, Edwards, J. Osborne, M'lntosh, and '• R. Bender.
The toasts of the evening were "The King," "The President" (proposed by Mr. W. Hartnell and responded to by Mr.. C. ( W. 'Tanner), "The Pastime" (proposed by Mr. C. E. Mardell), "The Prize Winners" (by Mr. W. H. Nimmo), and "The Trade" (proposed by Mr. R. Bendei and responded to by Messrs. T. Gates and V. Sutherland)." An enjoyable evening ended by singing "Auld Lang Syne."
