WIN AGAINST NEW SOUTH WALES SECOND FIFTEEN.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPTMOHT.) SYDNEY, 12th July. The Maoris defeated tbe New South Wales second Rugby fifteen by 27 points to 18, after an indifferent contest, in which intermittent flashes of brilliancy wero seen. Play was inclined to be feeble and ragged in the first half, the Blues frequently preferring to drop the ball like a hot potato when bustled by tho Blacks. The score at tho interval was 14 points to 6in favour of the Maoris. The seccond spell was more evenly fought, with the Maoris in the ascendency, though both sides were failing at critical moments. The Maoris scored seven tries, three of which were converted, and the home team secured six tries.
