TALKS ON HYMNS

There was given at St. George's, Seatoun, after evensong on Sunday, the first of what it is hoped will prove_ a. series of "Talks on Hymns and their Writers," With the congregation selecting and singing the hymns for tho occasion, Mr. Philip Palmer, organist of St. George's, gave an outline of tho origin of each hymn chosen, explained the tune, marks of expression, etc., and then invited the congregation to take up the cuo. Altogether a vory pleasant and profitable half-hour was passed.
