To-morrow the harbour ferry will resume the two-boat service, after a period of only one boat since Ist June. Th ..represents six weeks, to the day, and is the shortest time devoted to overhaul of the two vessels since the Eastbourne' Borough Council took over the service nearly nine years ago. Both vessels have been thoroughly overhauled and re-paint-ed, and are in suitable condition to

"carry on" until the question of the new .boat is finally decided. On the arrival, of the additional boat it, is proposed to re-condition the Duchess and fit her with a full new set of boilers. This work will take, it is estmated a period of three months to carry out, and will cost a considerable sum of money, but the vessel will then Be in condition to last for many yearo active work in the ferry service.

Alterations to the time-table under the two-boat service are notified in the advertising columns.. The main, difference in the time-table is that the boat which usually leaves Rona Bay at 7.5 a.m. will now leave at 7 a.m., the five minutes thus gained allowing . workers from town catching the fiist boat to reach their work at Eastbourne only a few minutes after 8 o'clodt. The second alteration of moment is that the -1.30 p.m. boat from Rona Bay will now leave at 4.25, the extra five minutes being required for transhipment of passengers in town.
