HOMILY ON LOYALTY.

A little homily on loyalty and veiled advice to the Liberals should they consider linking up in any way with the Labour Party was delivered by Mr. A. D. M'Leod during the Address-in-Reply debate last evening. "I believe there are loyal men among the Labour members of this House, but they seem to be ashamed of their loyalty," stated Mar. M'Leod. "They are, I say, ashamed of their loyalty." Mr. M'Combs: "We don't exploit it." Mr. M'Leod said he stood to-day as he had always stood, proudly for the Empire which ga/e and promised all that was good in the world. A Labour Member: "Give us a policy for New Zealand. Don't miserably exploit your loyalty." Mr. M'Leod: "No. You don't like it. If you are really loyal, I must say that you have a very peculiar way of showing it.. We have even had the crimes of other countries almost applauded if they were disadvantageous to Great Britain. The majority of the people of this country will have nothing' to do with this sort of thing. I know a large number1 of Liberals will have nothing to do with it. I hope that if any move is made, having for its object the defeat of the present Government, it will not follow lines which will give. the loyal members of this House cause for regret."- I
