The Standard's Dublin correspondent states that de Valara's whereabouts remains a mystery. The general impression is that the Government is hunting for him, but it is not so,- the Government does not much care about de Valera now. It believes that he counts for little, and that jt would be folly to make him a martyr. Barton, with a dozen other prisoners, has escaped from Portobelto barracks. The authorities state that the escape wa-s wasted labour,' as it wa. intended to release them this week, as being of no military importance.
