(it nuMMra<-BracMt. to rai rott.) , CARTERTON, This Bay. The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board was helfl at Cartcrton yesterday, Mr. J. 0. Cooper presiding. The statement of finances showed; a credit balance of £5124 Is lOd. Accounts amounting to £242 5s 8d were passed for payment. The chairman reported that arrangements had been made with the Public Trustee to only take up £20,000 of the £40,000 loan immediately, as the board was not able to reinvest it to suit its requirements. This action was endorsed. It was decided to reply to the Sonth Auckland Electric Power Boards League re conference, that the Wairarapa Board was favourable to the creation of a Power Boards' Association. It was decided to approve of the plans of reticulation as presented by the engineer, together with the plans for the development of the Kourarau Stream for a stand-by plant, and to make application for a license to erect the poles. It, was further decided that a poll be taken to amalgamate the loan proposals of £260,----000, and for authority to raise an additional £40,000 for a wiring station and financial assistance to consumers, and £10,000 for showroom stock. Contingent to tie poll for the additional money being; carried, the -engineer was ; , given authority to recommend the appointment of an assistant engineer at a salary not exceeding £600 a year, who will'have charge of the wiring station, and beresident in Masterton. Seven claims for temporary relief were dealt with.

A match was fired last night between the Masterton Miniature Rifle Club and $he Gieytown Club, and resulted in a win for Masterton. by 31 points. The Rev. Father Herring, S.M,, of Wellington, is at present visiting1 Masterton.
