MR. HUGHES'S COMMENT
DEFINITE UNDERSTANDING
REQUIRED,
(Received July 5, 11.30 ft>m.)
MELBOUBNE, This Day. Mr. W. M. Hughes, in discussing the position, said he was glad the seamen were showing signs of coming to their senses, but it was not sufficient that they had retired from their untenable position. They must give a definite understanding that in future the Commonwealth vessels will be manned by members of the union without friction or delay. . ■
