INTEREST IN AUSTRALIA GATHERING OF SCIENTISTS, (UNITED PBBBS ASSOCIATION.—COPTMOHT.) (Received July 5, 10 a.an.) SYDNEY, This Day. Elaborate preparations are being made for the observation of the eclipse of the sun on 21st September at a line of stations along the central track of the eclipse stretching across Northern Australia from Condon, on the Indian Ocean coast, to Ballhia, in New South Wales. The situation and climatic conditions along the greater part of this line are regafded as such as to lend themselves to favourable observations. Sevei'al townships, fortunately for the convenience of the observers, lie within the zone of totality. Interest in the eclipse is increasing with the arrival of the distinguished astronomers, who have already begun to gather for the great day, bringing special, instruments. One of 'the principal objectives of the observations will bs the_ testing of .Einstein's theory or relativity.
