EMPRESS THEATRE.

This week'B programme at the Empress Theatre is an excellent one. Seena Owen and Matt Moore appear in "Back Pay." Constance Binney is the star of "Something Different," and there is an excellent Sennett comedy, "Gingham Girls," besides the Gaumont Graphic, and a travelogue, "The Chateau Thierry War Zone." The title of the first-mentioned picture is based on a remark made by a girl who sees the diversions of the city: "If the wages of sin is death, I have a lot of back ■ pay corning to me." Her .regeneration is depicted with scenes which make • a powerful appeal. "Something Different depicts the adventures of a young lady who gets mixed up in a revolution in South America. Splendid music is played by the Empress Orchestra. "THE ROSARY." The management of the Empress Theatre announces "The Rosary" for the next change, commencing oh Friday. The first Selig "Rosary" was one of the picture sensations of the last decade, its humanity made it so, and now the First National . Company gives us another "Rosary" a greater production enacted by a cast of unparalleled talent, and directed by Jerome Storm. The cast consists of Lewis S. Stone; as Father Brian Kelly, Jane Novak, Wallace Beery, Robert Gordon, Eugenic Beaserer, Dore Davidson, Pomeroy Cannon, Bert Woodruff, Mildred June, and Harold Goodwin. It tells the story of three great loves, one sweet, one sad, and one forever unrequited. There are thrills of rushing action and dynamic drama, the: smiles of true comedy, and the emotional ensemble that makes each reel a success. There will be specially arranged music by Mr. H. G. Avery, and vocal numbers by Mr. Herbert F. Wood, the whole making a grand presentation. Other items are "A Scandal in Bohemia," a Sherlock Holmes adventure, "A Trip Through Maoriland," an interesting novelty, a Gaumont Graphic, and a° Pathe comedy, "Sink or Swim." : ■■ ;
