EX-BUTCHER CLAIMS SUCCESSION.

The Monte Carlo correspondent of the Daily Express reports x that George Frederick' Grimaldi, formerly a butcher at Smithfield, has created a sensation in official circles by claiming succession to the principality of Monaco. It is recalled that the Pope in 1880 annulled the, marriage of the late Prince with the daughter of the eleventh Duke of Hamilton, but Louis, the son of that marriage, is likely to succeed in view of his popularity in the, State. .- \ '
[The late Prince Albert Honore Charles of Monaco, whose death was reported a few days ago, was married in 1869 to Lady Mary .Hamilton, whose son Louis is named by the various authorities as the heir to the principality. This marriage -.was annulled in 1880, and the Princess remarried and became Codntess Tassilo Festetics. The Prince of Monaco married, in 1889, 'Alice, Duchess of Richelieu) There were no children of this marriage, and in 1902 a judicial separation was made. The late Prince, in 1919, adopted! Charlotte Louise Juliette, who was born in Constantinople in 1898. The principality of Monaco obtains its revenue wholly from the famous, Casino of Monte Carlo.]
