JAMES SPICER AND SPICER
BROTHERS.
When the mail left London meetings were being called for the purpose of carrying out an amalgamation of Spicer Brothers., Ltd., and James Spicer and Sons.
The amalgamation will be effected by a transfer of the business of James Spicer and Sons, Ltd., to Spicer Brothers, Ltd. To carry out the proposed amalgamation, the capital of Spicer Bros., will be increased. Up to 1865 the two businesses were one, but since that date they havo been separate. The head office of the amalgamated company will be at 19, New Bridge-street, , Blackfriars, which . was the head office of the old firm in 1865. All the present directors of James Spicer and Sons, Ltd., will join the board of the amalgamated company, the Right Hon..Sir Albert Spicer, Bart., becoming chairman, Mr. \H. C. Spicer deputy-chairman, and Sir Howard Spicer, K.8.E., vice-chairman. Mr. H. G. Spicer and Sir Howard Spicer, K.8.E., will be thetwo managing directors. The amalgamated company will be called Spicers, Ltd. , Messrs. Spicer Bros., Ltd., for many years havo been repres/ated by Storer, Meek, and Co., Ltd., of Wellington, and James Spicer and Son by Mr. W. H.. Bruce.
