SHORTT'S THEATRE
"The Broken Road," a picture adapted from the well-known story by A. E. W. Mason, is the attraction in the new programme at Shortt'e Theatre. The story deals ' with the efforts of the Linforth family to make a great road in India, hut owing to the revolt of the natives the work has to be suspended until the.last of the Linforths, having made a friend of the Khan of Chillistan, goes out to complete the road. His friend turns on him and leads a tribe of hillmen against his column. The hillmen are defeated; and the work is finished. Harry Ham appears in the leading Tole. Good supporting items are being shown, also shown.
