A war memorial to the men who served in the Great War was unveiled during' the morning service at St. Thomas's Church, Wellington South, on Sunday, by His Excellency the Governor-General, Viscount Jellicoe. The memorial, a stained-glass window of appropriate design, depicting Christ receiving the little children and blessing them, and in recognition of the men's service to the' young as well as to the Old, was erected by. subscriptions made by the parishioners and friends at a cost of about £125. Underneath there is a brass tablet suitably inscribed. At the ceremony, in the presenco of . a full congregation, , the Bishop of Wellington dedicated. The vicar (Rev. W. ; Fancourt), in bis sermon, made reference to the sacrifice of those who went on, active service. The St. Thomas's troupe of Boy Scouts provided the guard of honour. .Messrs. Wheatley and Co. will soil furniture and linos to-morrow, at 1.50, in their rooms.
