Some recently dug deliveries which have been subjected to severe frosts have been held up in port, repicking being necessary. Growers* holding tubers in sacks are in a position to accept current prices with profit, but the great bulk of the potatoes are now in pit, and growers are ■wanting at least £1 per ton extra. There are not many rebagged tubers going North. Business has been done at £5 12b 6d per ton f.p.b., 5.1., equal to £4 5s to £4 10s for prompt delivery at country stations. For August-September delivery the past week's ruling f.o.b. price of £6 has scarcely been maintained. Perennial ryegrass is in demand, and good parcel was sold for the North during the week at 5s 6d. It was heavy machine-dressed seed. , Peas, which had eased slightly doling the. week, brightened up as the result of renewed Home inquiry. Business Ims been done at equal to 8s 3d at country stations for Partridges. Linseed, which had also eased, recovered during the week owing to a sale of some dimensions per Australia. The equivalent, to farmers at country stations was about £14 ss.
