FEIDING AND RONGOTEA SALES.

Messrs. levin and Co., ltd., report as follows for the week ending 17th June:—At Rongotea on Wednesday a good yarding of cattle came forward. The bulk of the yarding \va3 dairy cows and beifers, which, met with a very dull sale. Though vendors were meeting the market,' store cattle met with little competition, and prices were exceptionally low. We quote: Good prime fat cows, £3 16s, £3 6s, £3 7s; medium fat cows, 30s, 355; 2^-year steers, £2 15s; Jersey cross 3-yeai1 springing heifers, good, £9 10s; wellgrown Jersey weaner heifers, £4 ss; wellgrown Holstein cross weaner heifers, £2; small weaner pigs, ,15s; weaner grade Jersey buSU £3 10s. Feilding Sale: A good yarding of' sheep and a medium entry of cattle came forward. The bulk of our entry of 2700 sheep consisted of Romney breeding ewes ol exceptionally good quality, on behalf of Mock House stction, Hulls, and Messrs Xiggins, Bros., Kimholton. There was a good attendance, buyers being present from Wanganui Waverley, ltaetihi, Palmerston North, Levin, and Dannevirkc. Bidding was free, the best line of ewes meeting with, good competition. Romney ewe lambs were keenly sought after. There was a heavy yardmg of fat sheep. The'nse in fat ewes at last -week's sale was. barely maintained. With iSho exception of two small pens we had a total clearance under the hammer, the bulk of the yarding falling c» outside buyers. Dairy cows and heifers were dull of sale though approximately only a third of last week's entry came forward. A few guaranteed cows met with fair competition. A fair yarding of fat cattle (chiefly cows) sold at late rates. We quote.: On account Flock House Station, Bulls:—itomney ewe, lambs. 255,. 25s Id, and 16s; 2-tooth Romncy ewes1 and Itomney rams, 24s to 30s. On account of Liggins Bros., Kimboltou: Romney ewo lambs, 22s 3d to 25s 3d; forward b.f. lambs. 15s 6d, Us 3d; 2-tooth store wethers, 13s, 20s; forward empty, ewes, 15s 3d; mixed aged ewes, r.w. Romney ram, 20s; m<s. lambs, 13s, 13s od; small woolly lambs, 10s %d; good Romney fat lambs, 22s 6d; best fat ewes, 19s, 19s lOd, 20s; others.- 17s, 17s 6d, 18s; fat wethers, 34s 6d; cows close to profit, £7 10s to £13 10s; August calvers, £4 10s to £6 10s; forward empty cows', 345; good fat cows, £3 17s 6d.
