Cuba Street is certainly destined to be one of Palmerston's chief business streets, and at no distant date. . - Business sites have changed hands recently in Cuba Street at £80 per foot, and looked at from any point of view there is a future before Cuba Street. As the town—or, shall we say, city—of § Palmerston North advances, as it surely will, Cuba Street must come into greater prominence. It is a recognised fact that the town is building out in a westerly direction, great advancement has been a—. made in recent years away behind the showgrounds. Every visitor to the big Show must pass along Cuba Street. The municipal bus service begins and ends in Cuba Street. It has the distinct advantage of--being somewhere in the direct lay of the new railway station. Even if the proposed deviation never comes to pass Cuba Street will still be in the neighbourhood, yet be away from the noise, smoke and /sr\b^TrV\ nuisance that is inseparable from the railway. Cuba Street has many advantages that must increase its popularity as a business street. At least ten of the firms advertising on this page are returned soldiers, and apart from the mere sentiment of any par-. ticulap shop or centre these men need the public's support.
