THE SOUTHERN ALPS.

"In and Around the Southern Alps" was the title of a,very interesting lecture given by Mr. T. R. Fletcher (editor of the School Journal) to the members of the' Wellington Amateur Photographic Society and others in the Y.W.C.A. Hall, Mr. J. M'Kay presiding. One hundred and sixty beautiful photographs were shown, giving a splendid idea of the mountains, which have a beauty entirely their own, for there is no finer, spot in the whole of the two Islands than the Southern Alps. The lantern was operated by Mr. H. C. Milne. Mr., Fletcher and Mr. Milne were accorded hearty votes of thanks for the pleasant evening they had given.
