CHILD DIES FROM SCALDS

Pauline Ross, a two-year-old daughter of Mr. John Ross, of Muritai-road, Eastbourne, was badly scalded on Monday afternoon as the result of pulling a saucepan of soup off the fireplace. The parents were unable to obtain medical aid at .the time of" the accident owing to there being no doctor resident at Eastbourne. Wheii the services of a medical man were obtained the child was ordered into the Hospital, but her condition was serious at time of entry, and death occurred at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. An inquest will be held.
