AUTOMATIC TELEPHONES

IN KELBURN DISTRICT.

For some tune the staff of the district telegraph engineer's branch has been busy in making preparations for cutting over the telephones in the Kelburn, Karori, and Northland districts to the automatic system through the subexchange in Upland-road. The work is being carried out as speedily as possible, and it is hoped that it will be completed by nest Friday week. Meanwhile people who have had new 'phones installed in their houses will have to compose their souls in patience before being able to ring up other numbers.
