SMOOTH PROGRESS IN JAPAN.

(AUSTRALIAN - NBW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) TOKIO, 17th June. The Naval Treaty is progressing uninterruptedly through the regular channels, with a prospect of the Imperial signature being attached to it very soon. It is now ready for report by a subcommittee of the Privy Council unamended, and, according to a Foreign Office official, who, states that no objections were raised, the council is ready to adopt the report, thus passing the treaty to the Throne. .
