(AUSTRALIAN - NEW ZEALAND CABLB ASSOCIATION.) (Received June 19, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 18th June. M. Poincare, Premier of France, has arrived on. a visit to London. Speaking at a banquet tendered by the British League of Help to celebrate the defence of Verdun, he thanked the people of London for adopting Vexdun. He said that Fiance had already advanced nearly 90,000 million francs, on account of Germany, for the restoration of the devastated provinces. "It is," he said, "surely contrary to reason and equity that France should be called upon to bear herself, until now, the burden of the enormous expenses caused by German aggression, and invasion; but since for the time being this injustice has not come to and end, wo are all the more sensible to the marks of sympathy you have given our countrymen, whose homes were destroyed by the war."
