Onco more the southerly has come, and with it cold. and squally weather,' with heavy showers. The wind has been southeasterly and generally boisterous. The forecast is for a rise in tho barometer, winds couth-easterly strong to gale northward of Hokitika and Lyttelton, and southerly elsewhere, squally with showors generally. On the West Coast of H;b South Island cold and changeable conditions are likely to prevail, and there is prospect of a very cold night everywhere. The Government Meteorologist expects that the weather will improve shortly.
