DODGING TAXES
CATTLE ORDERED TO BE SHOT,

ADELAIDE, This Day. At the Federal Farmers' Conference, Mr. Roberts, of the Queensland Legislative Assembly, said he knew a man who had ordered two thousand cows to be shot before June if no rain fell, and two thousand more before August, to avoid taxation.
1 Mr. Fleming, of the Federal House of Representatives, testified that the same thing was prevalent throughout Australia. Mr. Hughes stamped, and said: "The Commonwealth is urging greater production; and that is the reward for it."-
