SOUTHERN UNIONISTS
OBJECTION TO PROCEDURE.
LONDON, 16th June. Lord Midleton, the Earl of Donoughmore, Dr. Bernard (Provost of TrinityCollege), and Mr. Andrew Jameson, representatives of the Southern Unionists, whom Mr. Churchill coneulted, have issued v statement in which they say : "While we were given an opportunity of seeing and discussing those portions of the Constitution affecting the composition and relations of the two Houses, we never saw the other articles. meet our views, we regret that the precedent of the Senate under the Act of 1920 has not been followed. We are not satisfied that the new Senate will afford genuine protection for Irish minorities."
