FIRST DEGREE AT OXFORD
Miss Williams was the first woman to pass t«he final examination with firstclass honours, and she became eligible for the privilege granted to men of being allowed to forego the two final terms needled to qualify for "call." Long befoTO »h© read for the Bar, she had achieved distinction. She holds a University appointment, and was actually the first woman to receive a diegiree at Oxford University. It will probably be a disappointment to many if Mias Williams keeps to hear expi-essed' intention of not appearing' iv the Courts. "I intend to go ia for education work solely," she said.
