WOMEN DOCTORS' WIN
Qualified- women will now be allowed to apply for position of assistant to the St. Pancras Medical Officer of Health.
This decision was arrived at by the Borough Council, The position had been rendered vacant by the dismissnl, on her marriage, of 'Dr. Gladys Smyth, as a result of a resolution of the council that all married women employees who had husbands able- to support them must leave the service of the council. It was suggested by the General Purposes Committee that, the position be filled by a man. but the council accepted an anmidinont. propesnd hv Mr. Tibbies.' that the vacancy be thrown open to' doctors of either si;n.
