GOOD AUSTRALIAN CONTRACT.

MELBOUBNE, 15th June.

The Minister of Customs has received private advices that the firm. of Borthwick and Sans has obtained a British Army contract for the supply o£ frozen beef for six months from Ist July. The Minister understands that the beef will be supplied from the company's Australian works and will absorb- at least 20,000 first-class bullocks. The contract is considered highly satisfactory io cattle owners, in view of the present expressed condition of the industry.
