MELBOURNE, 28th May.
Summing up his attitude towards1 games and the general holiday spirit .which was said to be encroaching on, ;the proper religious observance of the Sabbath, the Rev. F. H. Paton, recent-, ly elected Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, said there were two •main aspects to be considered in regaVd to a general observance of Sunday. First, Sunday was made for man, not marl for Sunday. Secondly, Christ ordained the day of vest that man might have time, to consider the spiritual realities, and he must always bear in mind the purpose for which it was instituted. He favoured Sunday bands so long as they selected approved programmes, although he was strongly against the introduction of Sunday morning trams. He also favoured brighfer Ghurch services.
