ROSINA BUCKMAN.
On Thursday next Wellington musiclovers will have the first opportunity of hearing New Zealand's Queen of Song, Miss Rosina Buckman, after her wonderful triumphs in England. Mr. E. J. Gravestock has arranged for the distinguished soprano and her talented husband, Mr. Maurice D'Oisly, to give four concerts in Wellington on Ist, 3rd, 6th, and Bth June. Only those in close touch with the music world of Europe have realised what a wonderful position Miss Buekman has won for herself. Since her first grand opera successes Miss Buckman has gone right to the- top of the -tree, having this year received the muchcoveted honour of an invitation to appear as prima donna at the world's greatest Opera House, La Scala, in Milan. Her concert platform successes have equalled her triumphs on the i operatic stage. - The Yorkshire Observer, in a recent issue, wrote: "Beyond doubt Miss Buckman is one of the outstanding personalities of the concert platform to-day. Her phenomenal range and the liquid qualities of her voice are entirely stimulating and delightful, while the artistry of her production, and her wonderful enunciation cannot but impress even the most casual concert-goer who knows little of technique or method, although perchance capable of appreciating both." The box plan for the four concerts was opened at the Bristol this morning.
