SYDNEY, 27th May. At the Stadium, Charley Ring, 10.9, defeated Frank Griffin, lO.il, in a twelve rounds contest; the latter skying the towel. Ring wore the New Zealander down with lefts to the face, severely punishing him, and had him 'staggering tyhen the towel was thrown in. , The contest was very willing, > but the fighting •was mostly of a wild order.
MELBOURNE, 28th May. After the worst contest witnessed for some time, Stone (911) defeated H.uhefield (the same weight), on points, in a twenty rounds contest. •"; .- ' .
