The fifty-first anniversary of the Trinity Methodist Church,'Wellington Soxith, was celebrated yeste'rday. 'The morning service was conducted by the Rev W. Rowe, of the Lower' Hutt Circuit, who chose liis text from the second Epistle of the Gojepel according, to St. John, verse eight, "Look to yourgelves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward." The sermon, which Was listened to with interest by a large congregation, was instructive-1 aiid inspiriting. The choir rendered two anthems, "Honour and Majesty" (Green), and "My Voice Shalt Thou Hear" (Goss). In the evening the pastor the Church, the Rev. E? Drake, occupied the pulpit, and preached from the thirteenth chapter of St. John, verse 14: "If then, your Lord and Maste,s, have washed your feet,-ye also ought to wash one another's feet." The strong point demonstrated by the preacher was that Christ came not to be served'' but to serve. " This was, in the words of the pastor, "the service royal.'' The choir rendered the anthems "Jes'u, Priceless Treasure" (Var* ley feoberts), and "Holiest, Breathe an Evening Blessing" (G. Martin). The solos, "Tlie Lost Chord'1 (Sullivan), and "God Who Madest Earth and Heaven" (Sanderson) were sung by Mr. HallSmith and Miss E. Martin respectively. -The rendition of all the musical numbers was esoellent. Mr. Clement Howe presided at the organ. On Wednesday evening next a sacred concert will be held in the Church'
