The Rev. D. G. A. Shaw, of Khan-1 dallah, has been appointed to the remaining vacancy on the Board of Governors of Scots College. Mr. F. H. Mather, Mayor of Eastbourne, who has been visiting the Commonwealth, returned by the Manuka last evening. ! Sir Robert Stout, accompanied by his sons, Dts. Robert and Donald Stout, left to-day for Auckland, to be present at the marriage of his son, Mr. J. L. Stout. Wilkinson, who has been president of the Wellington Timber Workers' Union for seven years, was last night presented by members of the union with, a case of pipes, suitably inscribed, and a tobacco pouch, as a mark of the esteem in which he is held. Sincere sorrow at the death of the late Mr.. W. M. Hannay was expressed in a minute adopted at last night's meeting of the Wellington Presbytery. It was suggested by the Rev. Dr. Elliott that the best way in which to honour Mr. Hannay's memory was to carry out the works he had so much, at heart. A vote of sympathy and condolence with the parents of Lennox Clarke, the Petone youth, who was accidentally killed while pig-shooting at Orongorongo last week, was passed by the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union last night. Clarke was a most promising footballer in the junior grades.
