MEETING OF COUNCIL.

The City Council met last lfight. There were present: The Mayor (Mr. R. AWright), Councillors A. ■ M'Vicar, P. Fraser, C. H. Chapman,.' S. H. Underwood, J.JVI. Dale, J. Burns, B. G. H. [ Burn, M. F. Luckie, L. M'Kenzie, W. J. Thompson, H. D. Bennett, W. H. | Bennett, T. Forsyth, C. B. Norwood, and W. J. Gaudin. The request of the Karori School Committee for a reduction in the charge of 10s per week for the sanitary service to the Karori School was refused. The offer of the Local Deputy Public Trustee to dedicate to the council, free of cost, a strip of land at Palmer-street, 43ft long, Ift in depth, was not'accepted.. Arrangements for coal supplies for the Corporation were left in the hands of the City Engineer.
