At an unwritten-law trial of Madame Perron, a pretty actress and singer, accused of murdering her husband, a director of the Bordeaux Theatre, prisoner gave evidence that her husband visited the Dijon Theatre and fell in love with the daughter of a director of that theatre. Repeated efforts, to. persuade thqi girl to leave the husband failed, and Madame Perron took a pistol from her vanity bag and fired thrice, killing the husband. She was acquitted.
