FINDING A WINNER
AN INTERESTING POSITION,
'An interesting: position has arisen in Section B of the senior pennants competition, as the result of Victoria and Newtown drawing with three wins each on Saturday. On behalf of Hataitai, who *vere successful against Island Bay, it is contended that they are the section, winners, seeing that Victoria and Newtown did not play on to decide their tie. Although there- would appear to be a division of opinionl on the point, it was authoritatively stated to-day that, undter. the rinks system, ties in sections, as well as in finals, must be played off, until a winner is found. Consequently, instead of ceasing play at the 21st head on Saturday, Victoria and Newtown should haye played on. It has been decided', therefore, that the same teams which represented Victoria and Newtown on Saturday shall' play off an extra head on Thursday evening next. Whichefver side is successful will meet Hataitai on Saturday to decide the winner in Section B. The winner will then meet Wellington) to decide the holder of the pennant.
