COMPLICATED 3Y WATER
SHORTAGE.
(Received March 6, 1.30 p.m.)
LONDON, sth March. The Morning Post's correspondent at Cairo states that a feature of the situation is the serious water shortage. The Nile is worse than" in 1914. The water, aided by the Assouan Dam, should suffice for ordinary summer crops, but there will be no surplus for summer "rice. As last year's cotton crop was very small the situation is doubly seri9us.' . The new Cabinet is in a, difficult position, ac the majority of the Egyptians are unable to understand the necessity for conserving water, and will be sure to resist the regulations which are unpopular.
