Professor Jack, of Otago University, was invited to give a lecture at the diamond jubilee conversazione of the Canterbury Philosophical Institute early in April. He will not be able to attend, but arrangements have been made for him to speak from Dunedin to those present by wireless.
Charged with the theft of a wallet and £5 in money, the property of Thomas K. Garratt, a man named Thomas Hodges entered a plea of guilty at the Magistrate's Conrt this morning-, and he was admitted to probation for twelve months by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.
