Mr. Brooks,' on beljalf of tho employers, stated that the proposals of tha employees containing a clause for the socialisation of industry showed such! a wide divergence of views betweeh the .parties that the employers did not propose to discuss them further, as nothing done at the conference could fridge the gulf between the workers' policy of destruction and the employers' policy; ofconstruction. The conference, which has apparently reached an impasse, has adjourned. SYDNEY,. 3rd March. Th© Economic Conference endtedi abortively, Mr. Brooks further stating that the employers declined to associate themselves with any proposals such aa Labour submitted.
