The granting of Lady Rhond'da's petition to sit in the House of Lords has established .the right of, twenty-four peereesses to sit in the Lords..- Her claim is based on the contention that the Sex Disqualification Removal Act was intended to abolish, all sex disqualifications which prevented- the exercise of public functions. The Crown did not oppose the claim.
