The Beverage Journal, formerly trie Western Brewer, supplies information that a great many people want to know, It tells what is happening to the old brewery plants* in U.S.A. Since the advent of Prohibition. The Beverage Journal says: Brewers are now large producers of various beverages and are active in many other lines. Requests for exact information have been so frequent that we deemed it advisable to learn each activity at each plant and publish the information in directory form. Replies from 94 per cent, of all breweries in the United States Bhow the following facts. 667 plants are making cereal beverage* (near beer). 431 plants make carbonated beverages other than near beer. 118 plants are listed as making soft cfrihk syrups (compounding at least one soft drink). , 63 plants have confirmed the fact that they are making malt syrups and extracts. 145 plants make ice and 50 operate cold storages. 152 plants are listed as idle and many others have milch unused plant space.
