SCOTTISH "SOCIAL"
The ScottisK Society and Pipe Band held an enjoyable "social" and dance on Saturday evening in the Concert' Chamber of the Town Hall, the gathering, numbering close on 400, included many recent arrivals from Scotland, The programme, arranged by Mr. Colin Campbell, included a selection and waltz by the Pipe" !Band. songs by Misses Wilkinson, - Stokes; and little Helen M'Lellan, Mr. Luckock. and Master Winston M'Carthy. Mrs. M'Millan and Mr Sander played the accompaniments. A recitation was-given by Miss Kathleen O'Brien. While supper was being served Pipers' Kirkpatnck and Fraser played "The. Inverness Gathering," and Mrs. M'Millan played a number of Scottish airs on the piano. The society's Highland dancers also performed to tho admiration of aU.,,,', ■.'., .]. '' 1
