AUDIT AND TREASURY PICNIC.
The annual picnic of the Audit and Treasury Departments was held at Day's Bay last week. -There was a large attendance, and in spite of the doubtful weather, a varied sports programme was successfully carried out, the events, including tennis, swimming, and field sports. In the evening an enjoyable dance was held in the pavilion.
, The winners of the sports events were: Tennis, Messrs. R. W. Cox and G. L. Taylor. Swimming: 75yds men, L. R. Dayies; 50yds ladies, D. Featonby; mixed diving, L. R. Davies. Sports: 75yds cadets, W. Garbett; 75yds men, C. REdwards; 75yds ladies, L. Lynch. Cigarette race, G. L. Taylor and Miss Dunne; thread the_ needle race, G. Hall and Miss Grant; hairdressing competition, P. Hepburn and Miss Halliday; wheelbarrow race, F. Watters and Miss Curtis; whistling race, L. Williams and Miss Kitto; elopement race, 0. R. Edwards and Miss Halliday; egg and spoon race, T. M. Highet and Miss Kitto, four-legged race, T. M. Highet and Misses Wilkening and Kitto; children's race, Master P. Miller; visitor's race. Miss Roberts; three-legged-raco, Mr. Highet and Miss Murtagh.
