SATURDAY'S RACING.
On Saturday afternoon the ladies' race of the R.P.N.Y.C. was sailed. The wind was very light and patchy. Five starters crossed the line —Rona, Kotiri 1., Seabird, Miru, and lolanthe. The course was twice round Jerningham buoy, Coromandel hulk buoy, and a mark off the boat harbour. Rona had all the best of it in the way of wind throughout, and drifted past Jerningham buoy when the other boats were becalmed in Oriental Bay. The advantage bo gained wag increased in the light fluky air right round the course. Iblanthe retired in Oriental Bay in the second' round.
