FRENCH FOOTBALLERS
COMMENTS ON THEIR PLAY
(HILISBID IN THK TIKIS.)
(Received February 27, 2.30 p.m.)
LONDON, 26th February. The Times football critic referring to the drawn game Between England and France comments that England has been only once beaten at Twiskenham, when the South Africans won in 1913. The only previous draw wag with Ireland in 1910. England's backs made, mistakes, by which France profited. The French backs started brilliantly, but were somewhat raw. They have yet to emerge from the elementary stage. The forwards packed clumsily, but pushed with tremendous keennees. A great fault was a lack of restraint. They must learn to wheel and dribble, but they are fast, strong, and well trained.
