A FOOLISH MAN
While in a state of depression jesterday on account of his failure to secure work, a young man named Horace Messenger, 24 years of age, took an irritant. Fortunately, he was discovered in time, and he quickly responded to treatment. On his recovery he was taken in charge, and this morning he appeared before Mr. F. E. Hunt, S.M., to answer a charge of having attempted to commit suicide. He pleaded euilty. "Well," said Mr. Hunt, "do you feel a bit more cheerful now?" "Yes," said Messenger with a smile. "Well, ' don't make a fool of yourself again," was the Magistrate's parting advico as he convicted Messenger and ordered him to come up for sentence when called upon.
